Dhaka’s Senior Judicial Magistrate Mishkat Shukrana approved the warrant after hearing a request for police detention on Sunday.

But since the case file was not ready, the judge ordered that Kazi Yusuf be sent to jail that day and set the hearing for Sunday.

According to him, Yusuf was presented in court on Sunday. Lawyer Sahidul Islam opposed the preventive detention and requested bail.

He said: “The defendant is not involved in the incident. He has been involved in the case for unjustified harassment. He was not present on the day of the incident. “

After hearing from both parties, the court denied bail and sent Yusuf for two days for questioning.

Yusuf Ali, 45, lived in Dhamrai Dakshin Para of the Dhamrai municipal area and had been registering marriages in the area for a long time.

Apparently he took a woman who was married about a month ago and brought her home after showing her the temptation to increase the amount from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 3 lakh.

Police arrested Yusuf when the woman, a garment factory worker, filed a case with the police on December 3.
