The Awami League of Metropolitan North Dhaka held a protest procession and street rally in front of the political office of the president of the Awami League in Dhanmondi at 7:30 pm.

In a short rally at the end of the procession, Bazlur Rahman, president of Mahanagar Uttar, said: “The freedom fighters responded to this radical evil force in 1971, now they want to rise again. If they want to show community violence again, they will find a broken tooth. “

He also announced a program of protest rallies and demonstrations in all the northern metropolitan districts on Sunday.

After that, the leaders and workers of the Swechchhasebak League arrived there with a procession. Slogans such as ‘Keep a camp / massacre slowly’, ‘Another name for Bangladesh is Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’, etc. were given from their procession.

Fazlur Rahman Babu, general secretary of the central committee of the Swechchhasebak League, said at the end of the procession: “Opponents of the vandalism of Bangabandhu sculptures and sculptures must be immediately arrested and subject to law. Tomorrow we will carry out protests throughout the country ”.

Meanwhile, leaders and activists of the Bangladesh Krishak League staged a protest procession in front of the National Press Club at 6 pm to protest the vandalism of the Bangabandhu sculpture.

The procession was led by the president of the organization Sameer Chand. The leaders and activists in the procession chanted slogans such as ‘Hathazari will be surrounded / Mamunul Haque will be captured’, ‘I want to be hanged / I want Mamunul Haque to be hanged’, etc. The procession ended in front of the Awami League office on Bangabandhu Avenue.

In a short rally there, Sameer Chanda said: “This country has become independent by defeating fundamentalist forces during the liberation war. Once again, by defeating these fundamentalist forces, we will place sculptures of Bangabandhu in every upazila and village in the country. “. Peasant society across Bangladesh will unite to defeat this fundamentalist force. “

After that, the BCL met in front of the Awami League office at 6pm after the protest procession.

At the rally, BCL President Al Nahyan Khan Joy said: “Those who are trying to create anarchy in the country with sculpture will have no skin on their back.”

He said: “Those who have broken the sculpture of the Father of the Nation as a thief in the dark of night, come closer in the light of day, if you have so much faith.”

Addressing Hefazat leader Mamunul Haque and his supporters, the BCL president said: “If you try to create anarchy in Bangladesh, which was given to you by the father of the nation, but I said again yesterday, I will say it again. But the skin on the back won’t be there.

“We understand the motives of those who debate idols and sculptures. You are implementing your partner’s Pakistan agenda. The love of Pakistan is not yet gone.”

The BCL president announced a program of protest processions and rallies across the country on Sunday to protest the demolition of the Bangabandhu sculpture.
