The Secretary General of the Awami League and the Minister of Road Transport and Bridges, Obaidul Quader, said the country’s economy, social tourism, tourism and the environment are suffering serious damage for the Rohingya. So the government has started the process of relocating them to Bhasanchar.
When asked about the international community’s criticism of the Rohingya relocation to Bhasanchar, he said: “Have I received any support from the international community without praise and verbiage?”
Obaidul Quader said that more than 11 lakhs of Rohingya have been given refuge for humanitarian reasons, where around 5 lakhs of the country’s citizens live.
He said this while distributing masks to leaders and workers of allied organizations organized by the Subcommittee on Relief and Social Welfare at the political office of Awami League President Sheikh Hasina in Dhanmondi on Friday. He joined the function via videoconference from the government residence in the Parliament building area.
Referring to BNP, the bridge minister said: “The opposition has not appreciated the enviable development that the country has had today. On the contrary, they are criticizing it.” Bangabandhu’s daughter, Sheikh Hasina, and the Awami League have won the hearts of the people of the country with development and honesty. And the BNP does not tolerate it. So they are carrying out various conspiracies against the country.
