A madrasa teacher in Brahmanbaria has been relieved of all positions and teaching from the institution in charge of creating chaos in the madrasa by participating in the student movement.
He is Mufti Abdur Rahim Qasemi, Undersecretary of Education for Jamia Islamia Yunusiya Madrasa in the district city. At the same time, he is a member of the Central Committee of Hefazat-e-Islam.
The decision was made at an emergency meeting of the madrasa’s policy-making forum on Tuesday (December 1).
This information has been provided in a notice signed by the director of Jamia Islamia Younusia Madrasa Mufti Mubarakullah.
According to the notice, Abdur Rahim Qasemi provoked the madrasa’s students and outsiders with his unfounded comments before the start of Johar’s prayers on November 12. At that moment he attacked an elderly madrasa teacher and took him away in a terrorist manner.
The notice further said that Abdur Rahim Qasemi created an atmosphere of rebellion in the greed of his own leadership by destroying the history and tradition of the centuries-old madrasa.
Mufti Mubarakullah, director of Jamia Younusia Madrasa, said that Abdur Rahim Qasemi had been released following the allegations.
