In India, the BJP lost the Maharashtra Assembly elections to the upper house. They won only one of the six seats. Congress won two of the remaining five seats, the NCP won two, and the independent candidate won one. Shiv Sena did not win any seats. But the alliance of Shiv Sena, NCP and the ‘Maha Bikash Agari’ Congress managed to defeat the BJP. All five of these six seats were held by the BJP.
On the day of this disappointing result, the Hyderabad Township vote brought good news for the BJP. Although Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) leads the 150-seat municipality, the BJP has done well.
In the previous municipality, the BJP had only two seats. The results of 100 seats have been declared as of Friday night. TRS got 42, AIMIM 34, BJP 22 and Congress 2.
These seats in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly were reserved for graduate voters and teachers. The BJP had the most influence among these voters. BJP leaders are concerned why it was suddenly reduced. The BJP is more concerned that Congress will snatch the graduation seat from the Nagpur division from them. This center has not been lost to the BJP for 50 years. The father of former Maharashtra BJP president Devendra Fardanbish won the seat twice.
Former BJP President and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has also represented the Center for 25 years. Clearly, the BJP has not been able to counter the tripartite alliance. It is also clear from this vote that the understanding of the tripartite alliance in Maharashtra remains intact. Recently, Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said that his coalition government will run for a full five years.
