7 dead in traffic accident in Mirzapur

Six people, including a woman, were killed in a traffic accident on the Dhaka-Tangail highway in the Kurni area of ​​Mirzapur upazila in Tangail. At least 10 other people were injured. The accident took place around 7.45am on Friday.
One of the dead was identified as Chandu, 32. He is a resident of Shanerhat village in Pirganj upazila of Rangpur. He was the assistant driver of the truck involved in the accident. Five of the injured are in treatment at the Kumudini Hospital in Mirzapur.
According to some eyewitnesses and police sources, the driver’s assistants were repairing the broken wheel of a Dhaka-bound bus at that location. Many passengers got off the bus at that time. At that moment, a truck carrying cauliflower pushed the stopped bus from behind. The front of the bus broke through the wall of a house on the side of the road and entered. And when the front of the truck hits the back of the bus, the back of the bus and the front of the truck go awry. Four passengers on the bus, including a woman, were killed instantly.
People ran to the place crying out for help. Upon receiving the news, the Mirzapur Police Station, the Gorai Highway Police Station in Mirzapur, the Mirzapur Traffic Police and the Mirzapur Fire Service personnel participated in the rescue operation. The wounded were taken to the Kumudini Hospital where two died.
