In Mirzapur, Tangail, a young man used to show the temptation of marriage and take money hostage with an offensive video photo of an expat’s wife. He also threatened to kill the housewife. But his last defense was not. Manjur Rahman, 28, was arrested by local police.
He was reportedly arrested at his home around 10pm on Wednesday. Manjur Rahman is the son of Innach Ali of Haria village in the Bhaora union of the upazila. He was sent to jail through court Thursday afternoon, police said.
According to the police, the housewife was attacked by Manjur Rahman, son of Innach Ali from Haria village because her husband was abroad. Manjur made fun of him in various ways. He used to show threats and intimidation because he did not agree with Bakhat’s evil proposal. At one point, the housewife fell in love with the young man. Trapped in love, he went home, took videos of her naked with intimidation and threats, and took offensive photographs. Later, when the housewife realized her mistake and asked Manzur to stay away from her, he refused, but Manzur demanded money from the housewife. The housewife gave Manjur five lakh rupees in several rounds. Manzur did not stop at this either. He demanded the six lakh rupees from the housewife. Otherwise, he threatened to viralize all the videos and photographs. Manjur told the expat housewife’s husband about the video and photo when he expressed his inability to pay the money. He also sent these videos and photographs to the Facebook messengers of some relatives of the housewives. After this incident, the housewife was forced to leave her husband’s house with her son and go to his father’s house.
Meanwhile, the expat’s wife filed a case against Manjur Rahman in the Tangail Superior Judicial Magistrate Court, Mirzapur Amli, on September 21 for failing to obtain justice in the area. After the case was closed, Manjur Rahman and his associates threatened and intimidated the expat’s wife and family in various ways, including murder. On October 12, the defenseless housewife presented a general diary at the Mirzapur police station for the safety of her family and herself. After the general newspaper, the accusation was sent to court. On that basis, the court issued an arrest warrant for Manzoor. Mirzapur police arrested Manzur at his home around 10 p.m. Wednesday on the basis of an arrest warrant.
