The waz mahfil of Mamunul Haque, general secretary of Khilafah Majlis and deputy general secretary of Hefazat-e-Islam, has been canceled over objections from Awami League affiliates.

Mamunul Haque was scheduled to address a mahfil waz in the Jamtail area of ​​Belkuchi upazila on December 16, organized by Jamtail Darul Uloom Qawmia Hafizia Madrasa in Belkuchi upazila.

In this regard, Sirajganj District Juba League President Rashed Yusuf Jewel said: “I have spoken to the organizing committee about Mamunul Haque’s Waz Mahfil.” Whoever wants to throw the sculpture of Bangabandhu in Buriganga will not be able to gather in the land of Sirajganj in any way. Later, on Wednesday afternoon, the organizing committee called a meeting and informed us by changing its decision.

The president of the Sirajganj District Volunteer League, Nurul Islam Sajal, said that Mamunul Haque was an extremist. A meeting of an extremist like him cannot be held in Sirajganj. That is why, under the leadership of the leaders of the Central League of Volunteers, we carried out several programs to close the mahfil. Also, on behalf of the District and the Upazila Swechchhasebak League, I spoke with the local educators and the madrassa authorities. The organizing committee later informed us that the meeting had been canceled.

Mohammad Zakaria, education secretary for Jamtail Darul Uloom Qawmia Hafizia Madrasa, said Mamunul Haque’s waz mahfil has been canceled. He will not come to Sirajganj.
