Three days after her boyfriend’s suicide, her boyfriend committed suicide in the Katlamari village of Jhenaidah Sadar upazila.
After her boyfriend Sumon Biswas committed suicide on Monday, Mina committed suicide by hanging herself around 4 a.m. Thursday.
The additional police superintendent of the Jhenaidah Sadar circle, Abul Bashar, said that Sumon Biswas, the son of Krishnapad Biswas from the village, had lived in India for 3-4 years and returned home a few days ago. Sumon’s family is very poor. His father Krishnapada Biswas is a fisherman. Sumon had a store in the market.
On the way back and forth, he fell in love with Mina Akhter, the daughter of Maqbool Hossain’s wife from the same village.
Mina was admitted to the university after passing the SSC.
According to the locals, Mina Akhter aka Mina Rani Pal, who was born into a Hindu family, was abandoned by her father Rajiv Pal when she was two years old. Later, when the first wife of the Ansar Battalion member, Maqbool Hossain de Comilla, died, his second marriage was to Minar’s mother.
Then he converted to Islam under the name Sumaiya Akter from his mother Anita Rani Pal. After retiring from work, Maqbool lived with his wife Sumaiya (Anita Pal), stepdaughter Mina, and daughter Mitu (11) in a rented house near the market in Katlamari village.
The late Narayan Pal and Nani Vanu Rani Pal from the same town of Minar have also converted to Islam and are living with their daughter-in-law’s family. After the love story between Sumon and Minar of different religions became known, there was a mixed reaction between the two families. The lovers also plan to flee and move elsewhere for fear of social pressure.
Mina and Sumon last met on November 30. That night Sumon attempted suicide by flying from the minaret and hanging from a tree. He was rushed to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital. He later died while receiving treatment there.
The additional police superintendent said Sumon was rumored to have been killed. Mina tried to see Sumon’s body but failed. After Sumon’s death, family members were asked to guard the minaret. Minao committed suicide by hanging himself around 4 a.m. Thursday.
After checking the mobile call log, it is known that Sumon met Minar on the night of November 30. They talk through the windows of the house. Earlier, a Rangamati boy named Minar. The value of the phone call is haughty between the two. Saying goodbye to his lover, Sumon committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree.
SI Anishuzzaman, in charge of the Katlamari police camp, said that Mina’s mother informed us at the camp around 4pm Thursday that Mina had locked the door to her house. Immediately, the patrol police went to his house and broke down the door and saw Mina hanging with a fan hook around her neck.
