A 60-year-old cyclist died in a traffic accident in Kishoreganj in Nilphamari. His home is in the Dangapara village of Panialpukur at the Nitai Union of the Upazila.
Witnesses said Komar Uddin was cycling to Dolapara from the union’s Maulvi Hat at around 9 am Thursday. At that moment an easy bike pushed him from behind. Komar Uddin was seriously injured when he fell to the side of the road together with his bicycle. When the locals rescued him and took him to the Kishoreganj Upazila Health Complex, the doctor on duty declared him dead.
Masud Rana, a doctor on duty at the emergency department of the Kishoreganj Upazila Health Complex, said that Komar Uddin was taken to the hospital by his relatives around 9.50 a.m. When informed, the police went and made an investigation report on the body.
The police officer in charge of Kishoreganj (OC) confirmed the incident. Abdul Awal said the body was recovered. So far no written complaint has been received. Legal action will be taken if a complaint is received.
