A statement from Google said that as of Thursday, the Google Transit feature will mainly apply to buses operating in the capital and trains operated by Bangladesh Railway.
People who use public transport, who have no idea of the place and the road, will be able to know the estimated time of their trip through Google Transit.
How to find information about public transport using Google Transit
1. You must open Google Maps on an Android or iOS device.
2. You need to set the destination and touch the ‘Directions’ icon or the ‘Go’ icon. It is necessary to correct the places of “origin” and “destination”.
3. You must touch the ‘Transit’ icon (if it is not already selected) to know the route and destination information.
4. You must touch Recommended route to know the stop on the route.
5. You have to touch any bus stop to know the bus schedule and the list of destinations.
Previously, in Bangladesh, Google had introduced some new functions in Google Maps for passengers. Among the features were the two-wheel navigation mode and turn-by-turn voice navigation in Bengali.
