In the second phase, the Electoral Commission (EC) has announced the schedule for the election of 61 municipalities in the country. The election will be held on January 18. Superior Secretary of the Electoral Commission (CE). Alamgir announced the schedule at the elections building in Agargaon, the capital, on Wednesday.
The EC secretary said that “of the 61 municipalities in the second phase, 29 municipalities will go to the polls by electronic voting machine (EVM) and 32 municipalities will go to the polls by ballot.”
“The last date for the presentation of nomination papers in this election is December 20, the selection of nomination papers will take place on December 22, the withdrawal of the candidacy will take place on December 29 and the vote will take place on January 18. “
The municipalities that will vote
Sandwip Municipality of Chittagong District, Ullapara of Sirajganj, Sirajganj, Raiganj, Belkuchi and Kazipur, Mohanganj and Kendua of Netrokona, Mirpur of Bheramara, Kumarkhali and Kushtia Municipalities, Kulaura and Kamalganj of Moulvibazar, Voting will take place in Boulvibazar Birganj and Dinajpur from Dhaka’s Dinajpur, Magura and Savar municipalities.
Naigaon, Bhangura, Ishwardi, Faridpur, Santia and Sujanagar, Kakshahat in Rajshahi, Aran and Bhabaniganj, Chhatan in Sunamganj, Madhabpur and Nabiganj in Habiganj, Boalmarg in Faridpur. Elections will take place in Sariakandi, Gangni in Meherpur, Shailkupa in Jhenaidah, Pirojpur, Khagrachhari and Lama in Bandarban Hill district.
In addition, Syedpur from Nilphamari, Dhanbari from Tangail, Chandia from Comilla, Daganbhuiyan from Feni, Kuliarchar and Kishoreganj Sadar from Kishoreganj, Manohardi from Narsingdi, Muktagachha from Mymensingh, Basurhat from Noakhaagerli, and Monglaf from Bakhaagerli were carried out.
