Human chain of social, cultural and professional organizations
Amir Junaid Babungari of Hefazat-e-Islam and Deputy Secretary General Mamunul Haque have been arrested by 70 organizations. They made this demand on the charge of insulting the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the Constitution.
Social, cultural and professional organizations organized a human chain around 3 pm on Tuesday. The human chain took place from Mats Bhaban in Dhaka to Suhrawardy Udyan via Shahbag.
The main demand of this program was to arrest Amir Junaid Babungari of Hefazat-e-Islam and the Deputy Secretary General Mamunul Haque. Also to ban radical and communal terrorist policies.
Liberation War Minister AQM Mozammel Haque said: “The (anti-sculpture) statement should be withdrawn. Otherwise, people who believe in the spirit of the Bengal liberation war will respond. The consequences will not be good. Even after giving specific statements about Bangabandhu in the year of Mujib, nothing has yet been said about them. This is your good fortune. We have to be prepared to obtain exemplary results. ‘
Golam Qudduch, president of Sammilita Sangskritik Jote, said: “We believe that there is no conflict between sculpture and religion. Therefore, those who are creating a conflicting position of religion with sculpture in Bangladesh are politically motivated.
Sangeeta Imam, Udichi Shilpi Gosthi’s co-secretary general, said: “We have to immediately repeal the ‘state religion’ from the constitution and return to the non-communal constitution of 1972.”
