As part of the celebration of the centenary of Bangabandhu’s birth, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized a series of lectures at the newly built Academy of Foreign Service in Sugandha.

Former Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith said that Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had determination, courage, generosity and compassion for the poor. Bangabandhu firmly believed that he had everything, including fertile lands and a large population, to turn the country into a developed and prosperous Golden Bengal. The Father of the Nation followed the policy of public welfare by eradicating poverty and creating employment for a large number of people.

Abdul Muhith said that Bangabandhu’s courageous and outstanding personality stemmed from his childhood. She had a lifelong relationship with the famous leader Suhrawardy, a student-teacher. In just three years and seven months, the Father of the Nation approved or modified 519 laws, including the Constitution, to cover all the people’s issues. It passed the Maritime Law in 1984.
