Why was the Iranian scientist unable to save himself despite knowing the assassination plot?

Iran’s security chief says intelligence agencies learned of a plot to assassinate nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhriad but failed to thwart him.

Ali Shamkhani, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, said they knew exactly where Mohsen Fakhriya would be targeted, but that the killers had used “completely new, professional and electronic methods” to prevent the killings.

He said that those behind the murder of Mohsen Fakhri had used remotely controlled electronic devices and that no one was present at the scene.

Iran has said in the past that a group of assailants opened fire on Mohsen Fakhriad’s car in the city of Absard, near Tehran, and then exchanged shots with bodyguards.

But now Iran’s Fars news agency, affiliated with the Revolutionary Guard, says Mohsen Fakhriadeh was killed with a remote-controlled machine gun.

Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, said Iran’s intelligence service was aware of the plot to assassinate Fakhrizadeh, but could not stop it due to “innovative tactics.”

“Mohsen Fakhriad’s security improved, but the enemy used completely new, professional and special methods, and unfortunately they succeeded.”

It was a very complex mission, he says.

Admiral Shamkhani said “some clues” have been found about the identity of the attackers. He indicated that members of the exiled Iranian group Mojahedin e Khalq were “definitely” involved. He also mentioned the involvement of the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad.

An English television channel, Press TV, quoted a source as saying that the killings showed signs of the Israeli military industry.

Previously, Iranian leaders claimed that Israel was behind the attack on Mohsen Fakhriad on Friday. However, Israel has yet to comment on the claims.

Israel, however, believed that Mohsen Fakhrizad was overseeing a secret nuclear weapons program.

Although Iran has always claimed that its nuclear program is peaceful.

Mohsen Fakhriad’s funeral was completed in Tehran on Monday. The soldiers carry bodies draped in Iranian national flags.

Defense Minister Amir Hatami said in a statement that the killings would be avenged.

“Our enemies know this, and as a soldier I tell you, the people of northern Iran must pay for any crime, any terrorism or any irresponsible act,” General Amir Hatami said.

He also said that the country will follow the path shown by the martyred scientist and it will be done faster and with more vigor.
