Belal said that after Irfan’s mother’s death, a request for her conditional release was submitted through the deputy commissioner on Sunday night.
Gulshan Ara suffered from diabetes, kidneys, high blood pressure, and liver problems for a long time. He was the Commissioner of the Dhaka City Undivided Corporation.
Irfan was also a councilman for District 30 of the Dhaka South City Corporation. He was fired after being convicted.
When Irfan was arrested for allegedly beating a naval officer, RAB searched his home and found Wakitki and alcohol. He was then sentenced to a year and a half by a mobile court.
