Dhaka’s additional metropolitan chief magistrate, Asaduzzaman Noor, issued the order on Monday as he did not appear in court, said the plaintiff’s attorney, attorney Farukur Rahman.

The chairman of Jalal Ahmed Spinning Mill and Shah Fatullah Textile Mills Limited, Selim Ahmed, brought the case in the Main Metropolitan Magistrates Court of Dhaka on February 24 last year over a dispute over the registration of an apartment in Unique Heights built by Nur Ali’s Borak Real Estate in Dhaka’s Paribagh.

Citing the case file, Farukur Rahman said, “The defendant took Tk 292.72 lakh from the plaintiff for constructing a building on government land and selling space. Although the flat was supposed to be registered in 2015, the plaintiff continued to walk around without giving it. That is why they have been accused of embezzling money in the case ”.

The lawyer said that when the case was presented in court last year, six people, including Nur Ali and his wife, were asked to plead guilty.

“After the case was closed, the judge allowed the police investigation office to investigate. An investigation report was presented to the court against Nur Ali and Selina, releasing five people.”

On September 16, the judge learned of the case after hearing the report and summoned the accused to appear in court.

But if they do not appear, the judge set a date for October 26 for the hearing in the presence of the convener.

After the hearing in the presence of Mohammad Hanifur Rahman Majnoor, who issued the summons on Monday, the judge said in the order: “The summons was issued at the entrance to Borak Bhaban. The defendant did not appear in court. In this case, the plaintiff’s request was granted. An arrest warrant was issued against the accused ”.

Although the defendants did not appear in court, their lawyer, the former president of Dhaka Bar Gazi. Shah Alam was present.

When contacted about the allegations, Nur Ali told bdnews24.com: The building has been leased on government land. According to government rules, if you don’t sign up within 30 years from the time you take the lease, you have to pay 30 percent more. This has created problems.

“They have taken the floor position, they are enjoying it. But they haven’t registered it in time. There are more floor beneficiaries in that project, their floors have been registered on time. They (the plaintiffs) have to pay extra money for not registering on time. But I’m not supposed to pay for registration. “

Nur Ali said: “We know the address of the court. Now we will take the bail in court, we will deal with the matter legally.”
