BNP candidate announced in 23 municipalities

The BNP has announced its party candidate for the next municipal elections on December 28. The party has announced the names of candidates in 23 of the 25 municipalities. No candidates have yet been declared in Pabna’s Chatmohar and Dhaka’s Dhamrai Township.

The BNP president’s private secretary, ABM Abdus Sattar, and the party’s acting secretary for information and research, Riazuddin, presented the certificates signed by the party’s general secretary to the candidates on Monday.

The candidates are Touhidul Islam in Panchagarh Township, Rezaul Karim in Pirganj, Maryland in Phulbari. Shahadat Ali, Firoz Shah in Badarganj, Shafiqul Islam in Kurigram, Al Mamun in Puthia, Sirajul Haque in Katakhali, Mahmudul Hasan in Shahjadpur, Raju Ahmed in Khoksaya, Sirajul Islam in Chuadanga, Abul Khair SM Khan in Chalnamangi, Shamayun Katauz Khan Abdullah Al-Mamun in Gafargaon, Enamul Haque in Madan, Ataur Rahman in Manikganj, Shahidullah Shahid in Sreepur, Iqbal Hossain Chowdhury in Dirai, Anwarul Islam in Baralekha, MF Ahmed Oli in Shayestaganurj in Sitak Munch.

On November 26, the Awami League appointed party candidates in 25 municipalities.
