Doctors pronounced one person dead at the hospital. The “corpse” was kept in the morgue for preservation. But the person regained consciousness as soon as the process of preserving the body began. When he regained consciousness, he saw himself in the morgue and screamed.
Citing local news outlet The Standard, British news outlet The Sun reported that extreme criticism had recently begun for such a horrific incident of neglect at a Kenyan hospital.
The 32-year-old man’s name is known to be Peter Keegan. He was admitted to Capletate Hospital in Kericho with severe abdominal pain. A few days after being admitted there, news was sent to his family that Peter had died.
Peter’s brother said that a hospital nurse reported his brother’s death.
Peter’s brother said: ‘I went to the hospital to hear about my brother’s death. The nurse also gave me papers to get the body out of the morgue. Hospital officials called the body to the morgue before preserving it. I was surprised to go there. I see my brother move. I don’t understand how a living person was taken to the morgue. My brother Peter Keegan screamed in fear when he saw himself in the morgue.
Meanwhile, Peter said: ‘I can’t believe what happened. How did they know he was dead? Thank God for saving my life. ‘
