Solaiman Ali, 64, father-in-law of Sundarganj upazila from Gaibandha, has been arrested on charges of raping his daughter-in-law. The judge ordered that she be sent to jail in the afternoon when she was sent to court Sunday following her daughter-in-law’s case.
According to the police and the victim’s family, the abused housewife filed a rape case with the Sundarganj Police Station on Saturday night. Solomon Ali was arrested at his home late at night. Citing the case, the police further said that the husband of the housewife worked as a day laborer in different parts of the country. That is why he stays at home less.
Solomon’s father-in-law took this opportunity to show him various temptations. But the housewife did not agree and raped him at one point. Since then, she has been raped repeatedly for a long time. The housewife was forced to be silent for so long that she would hurt herself if she told anyone. But in recent times, when the matter has reached the stage of torture, he informed the parents of everything. The case was recorded at midnight on Saturday after speaking with them. Police raided and immediately arrested Solomon.
The officer in charge of the Sundarganj (OC) Police Station Abdullah Zaman said Solaiman was arrested after midnight Saturday after presenting a case alleging the rape of a housewife. When he was presented in Gaibandha court on Sunday, the judge ordered that he be sent to jail.
