Bhabhi Nilufa Begum (32) is also in critical condition. They were sent to the Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital.
Dulal Baburchi and the attacker Nuru Baburchi are the sons of the late Hashem Baburchi from the area.
According to the locals, there are numerous cases against Nuru Baburchi including robbery, extortion, drugs, attempted rape, and fighting.
Speaking to locals, it emerged that he was released from jail after serving 14 years in a gun case about four years ago. Since then, at least 25 people have been hacked and injured in the last four years. Some of them have lost arms or legs. Four months ago, his cousin Kanchan Baburchi was stabbed and wounded by Ramda. Although Kanchan Baburchi survived, he is crippled. Due to these terrorist activities, Nuru Baburchi has had to go to jail repeatedly in the last four years. He has been released on bail and is carrying out similar terrorist activities.
Family members of Nuru Baburchi said that Nuru Baburchi was mischievous since childhood. If someone said something, their hand would move instead of their face. At the age of 20, Nuru Baburchi cut off her uncle’s ear in front of hundreds of people at Kauria Bazar in upazila. Then Nuru Baburchi joined the bandits. Since then, his terrorist activities have increased. Nuru Baburchi is the name of a terror in the village.
According to locals, Nuru Baburchi was angry with the female members of the Maulana Nazrul Islam family from East Koralia village. Unable to bear his torture, Nazrul Islam and his relatives fled their homes. In addition, Nuru Baburchi is involved in various crimes including extortion, robbery and assault in the village. An attack is carried out if someone testifies in court against the case. That is why no one dares open their mouths against him.

The court sentenced Nuru Baburchi to 14 years in prison. While in prison, Nuru Baburchi learned that her older brother, Dulal Baburchi, had given her address. He promised to kill his older brother after being turned over to the police.
About four years ago, he got out of prison after serving 14 years in that gun case. He then began looking for an opportunity to kill his older brother, Dulal Baburchi. Nuru Baburchi became involved in a dispute with various opponents of the people. He has hacked and injured at least 25 people in the last four years due to the conflict. He has also been imprisoned several times in the last four years for these terrorist activities. His revenge was not taken for these reasons.
Nuru Baburchi got out of jail a month ago and planned to kill his older brother, Dulal Baburchi. Following this, older brother Dulal Baburchi was attacked around 8pm on Saturday.
Locals said that Dulal Baburchi was going home from Kauria Bazar to upazila on a motorcycle. As soon as he entered the house, his younger brother Nuru Baburchi, who was on the prowl, began to randomly hit various parts of his body with a sharp weapon. Nuru Baburchi also had three children and a few associates at the time. Dulal fell to the ground. His left leg was amputated and nearly amputated. When Dulal’s wife, Nilufa Begum, came forward to save her husband, Nuru also attacked her and injured her. Later, the locals rescued them and admitted them to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital.
In this regard, the Officer-in-Charge (CO) of the Hijla Police Station, Asim Kumar Sikder, said: “A team of policemen visited the scene after the incident on Saturday night. However, those involved in the incident, including Nuru Baburchi, were not found in the area. Police also raided nearby villages, including East Koralia, on Sunday afternoon. The police continue their operation to arrest them.
He added that there are several cases against Nuru Baburchi that include robbery and extortion. He was also arrested a few months ago. After being released on bail, he resumed his terrorist activities in the area. The OC said it would soon be possible to bring it into law.
