Chinese Defense Minister Wei Feng’s visit to Bangladesh was postponed at the last minute. It was scheduled to arrive in Dhaka on December 1. He is currently on tour in Nepal.

The Kathmandu Post reported Sunday night that after spending a day there, Defense Minister Wei Feng would visit Bangladesh and Pakistan and return to Beijing. But sources from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in the evening that the talks were like this, but the visit had to be postponed until the end because the time was not convenient.

Now a convenient moment for both is being sought and it will happen soon, officials from the Foreign Ministry said. The Chinese embassy in Dhaka did not say whether the Chinese defense minister was visiting Dhaka until the report was written last night.

According to Nepalese media reports, the Chinese defense minister sat down with the Nepalese prime minister and defense minister on Saturday. He also met with the country’s president, Vidya Devi. Indian Foreign Minister Harshvardhan Sringla visited Nepal last Friday. India and China are at odds over the border issue. The Chinese defense minister left for Delhi shortly after the foreign minister’s visit.
