Jhalokati Rajapur OC Police said. Shahidul Islam said they were arrested in the city of Jhalokati on Saturday morning.
They are: Rajapur Upazila Manoharpur, assistant teacher from Nurunnahar Sumi alias Maya secondary school (31) and her father. Shahidul Biswas (59).
They are residents of the village of Charpalat de Baria, a union of the Upazila. He lives opposite the Haji Mansion in the Adarshpara Hijackmore area of the city of Rajapur.
Police recovered Azizul’s body from the front of the house on Friday. Azizul, 36, is the son of Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad of Elephant Road in Dhaka.
Azizul’s younger brother said. Jahidul Islam Sohel presented a murder case against Sumi and her father at the Rajapur Police Station on Saturday night.
In the case, he said, Azizul used to work for a private television channel called ATN News. Azizul was at home for the past three months. Siksha Shimi underwent foot treatment at Suhrawardy Hospital in Dhaka for six years. At that time, Sumi met Azizul and a good relationship began between the two families.
According to the case file, Azizul spoke with Sumi on her mobile phone the night before the incident. Soon after, a man identified as Sumi’s future boyfriend called Azizul’s mother. The man forbade Azizul to go to Jhalokati. The man also threatened Azizul’s mother over the phone. However, Azizul Eagle Paribahan caught a bus from Dhaka around 10pm and went to Sumid’s rented house at the Hijack corner of Rajapur upazila the next morning.
It has been alleged in the case that Azizul was killed by being thrown from the roof of the third floor at one stage of the dispute over Sumi’s marriage at the time.
OC Shahidul told bdnews24.com that Sumi and her father had not been found in the home since the incident. They were arrested in the city of Jhalokati on Saturday morning.
