The Awami League has finalized the mayoral candidates for the 25 municipal elections to be held on December 28. The candidate was rescued at a meeting of the party’s Local Government Nominating Board held in Ganobhaban, the official residence of Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, on Saturday (November 26). The meeting was chaired by the Chairperson of the Local Government Nominating Board and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
According to the schedule announced by the Electoral Commission, the first round of municipal elections will be held on December 28. According to the announced calendar, the last date for submission of nomination forms is December 1, the last day for selection of nominations is December 3, and the last day for withdrawal is December 10. These elections will be held through the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM).
The Awami League mayoral candidates in 25 municipalities are Zakia Khatun in Panchagarh municipality, Kashirul Alam in Pirganj in Thakurgaon, Khwaja Moin Uddin in Fulbari in Dinajpur, Ahasanul Haque Chowdhury in Badarganj in Rangpur and Kaziul Islam in Kurigram municipality .
Rabiul Islam in Puthia Township of Rajshahi, Abbas Ali in Katakhali Township, Monir Akter Khan Taru Lodi in Shahjadpur of Sirajganj, Sakhawat Hossain Sakho in Chatmohar of Pabna, Sanat Kumar Biswas and Chuadyangar in Chuadar of Khusna are nominated.
ABM Golam Kabir in Betagi of the Barguna district, A. in Kuakata of Patuakhali. Barek Mollah, Gias Uddin Bepari in Ujipur from Barisal, Lokman Hossain Dakua in Bakerganj, Ramzan Ali in Manikganj Township, Golam Kabir in Dhamrai, and Anisur Rahman in Sreepur Township of Gazipur have been nominated by the Awami League.
SM in the Gafargaon Township of Mymensingh. Iqbal Hossain (Sumon), Abdul Hannan Talukder in Madan of Netrokona, Biswajit Roy in Dirai of Sunamganj, Abul Imam Mohammad in Baralekha, Moulvibazar Municipality. Kamran Chowdhury, Masuduzzaman Masuk in Shayestaganj de Habiganj and Badiul Alam in Sitakunda Township of Chittagong have been nominated.
