The girl’s mother, Shanta Akhter Pinki, 22, has made a confessional statement in court regarding the murder of Sohana, 18 days old, in Bagerhat.
Bagerhat Police Superintendent Pankaj Chandra Roy confirmed the matter on Saturday.
Said, on Friday afternoon, Shanta Akter Bagerhat Judicial Magistrate. Khokon Hossain made a confessional statement in court about the boy’s murder.
Police Superintendent Pankaj said: “From the beginning we took this case very seriously. We visit the place and collect various information. We thought from the beginning that no one in the family was involved in the murder.
For this reason, police first arrested the boy’s father, Sujan Khan, he said. He was later brought to trial and placed in preventive detention. After the court granted his preventive detention, the boy’s mother and father were questioned face to face. At one point, the boy’s mother confessed to the murder.
The investigating officer on the case, Thakur Das, said it was Sujan Khan and Pinky’s second marriage and that they had children from their previous family. It is speculated that the boy may have been killed due to family problems.
