The deputy general secretary of the Awami League, Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif, said: “The academics are respected. You don’t speak extremist. People do not support extremism. The sculpture of Bangabandhu will be established. No force has the power to stop it.
Hanif said this while addressing a Dhaka Metropolitan Awami League South Mahfil discussion and prayer meeting on the occasion of the 14th anniversary of the death of former Dhaka Metropolitan Awami League President and former Dhaka Mayor Mohammad Hanif on Saturday. .
The deputy general secretary of the Awami League said: “Extremism has no place in Islam. Those who speak of extremism in the name of scholars do not call it Islam. Islam speaks of peace. There are sculptures in many Muslim countries of the world. Nobody talks about sculpture there.
The leader of the Awami League further said: ‘It is an independent state. The country did not become independent after fighting for nine months to listen to the threats of the ghosts or racekars of Pakistan. It is an independent country, there are governments, there are people. People don’t mean extremism. They should have an idea of the power of the government.
Hanif added: “At the time of Corona, where the GDP is going down in the world, our GDP is five. This is due to the current Sheikh Hasina government. Bangladesh is now a development model to follow. BNP does not see any development activity from the government. BNP’s politics are full of lies and accusations. They lie about the vote. They are trying to argue with academics even though there is no problem in the political arena of the country.
