Two young men were killed when a covered van hit them in Burichang upazila de Comilla. Another young man was injured in the incident. The incident took place on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway in the Kalakchua area of upazila at around 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
The deceased have been identified as Nazmul Haque alias Bangabhai Sajal, 26, son of Nazim Uddin from the Kachiatli area of Adarsh Sadar upazila de Comilla and Mohammad Hossain, son of Amir Hossain from the village of Farizpur under the union of Mainamati by Burichang upazila. Shariful Islam Sohag (28). The young man injured in the incident was calm. The deceased Sajal and Sohag participated in various social movements, including Help for Human, a voluntary organization in Comilla.
Safayet Hossain, Officer-in-Charge (CO) of the Mainamati Highway Police Station, said Sajal, Sohag and Shant were going to Chandina on a motorcycle from the Mainamati cantonment area in Comilla after Friday prayers. A covered van is pushing the motorcycle hard from behind. Sajal and Sohag died on the spot. The injured Shant was rescued and admitted to Mainamati General Hospital. The covered van was seized after the incident.
