All sins are abominable. But some sins are very reprehensible and they also cause harm to others. Contaminated sins also harm individuals, families, society, and the state. Hence, in addition to Allah’s displeasure on those sinners, the curse of the Prophet (PBUH) also fell. Here are 10 sins the Prophet (PBUH) cursed.
Intimidating others by pointing a weapon: Intimidating someone with a sharp weapon in an unfair or malicious manner is strictly prohibited in Sharia. Those who engage in this work have been cursed by the Messenger of Allah (PBUH). Tabi’i ibn Sirin (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: I heard Abu Hurairah (may Allaah be pleased with him) say: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Whoever points a deadly weapon to his brother, the angels will curse him until he leaves him. He continues to do so, even though he is his own brother. (Muslim, Hadith: 6570)
Anas ibn Malik (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) cursed 10 kinds of people who were involved in alcohol. These are the brewer, the brewer, the brewer, the brewer, the brewer, the brewer, the brewer, the brewer, and the brewer. (Tirmidhi, Hadith: 1295)
People involved in usury: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) has declared a curse on all those involved in usury. Jabir (RA) said that the Prophet (SAW) cursed the usurer, the usurer, their author and their two witnesses. “They are all the same,” he said. (Muslim, Hadith: 3975)
The wife who does not respond to her husband’s bed: Abu Hurairah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace be upon him) said: If a man calls his wife to his bed and she she denies without any excuse, and he spends the night in pain for her. Then the angels began to curse the woman until morning. (Bukhari, Hadith: 3237)
Marrying for the purpose of divorce: A hadeeth from Amir al-mu’minin Ali 4 has been narrated in this regard. He said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: By marrying another person and making him halal to him, both of you are cursed. (Abu Dawood, Hadith: 207)
Sinning in the Holy Medina: Tabi’i Asim (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: I asked Anas bin Malik (may Allaah be pleased with him) if the Messenger of Allaah (peace be upon him) forbade Medina. He said yes, the middle ground from here to there. So the person who commits any sin here is something very terrible. Damn Allah, his angels and all mankind for anyone who commits any sin here. On the Day of Resurrection, Allah will not accept any of your obligatory or supererogatory acts of worship. (Muslim, Hadith: 3214)
Cursing parents: Abu Tufayl Amir ibn Wasilah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: I was present with Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allaah be pleased with him). A man approached him and said, “What did the Prophet (pbuh) secretly tell you?” The narrator said that he got angry and said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did not say anything to me in private, keeping it a secret from the people. But he told me four things (especially instructive). The narrator said, then the man said: O Amirul Muminin! What are those four words? Said 71. Whoever curses his parents, Allah curses him. Whoever kills an animal on behalf of someone other than Allah, Allah also curses him, 3. God also curses that person, gives shelter to any outsider and 4. God also curses the person who unfairly changes the reference points. (Muslim, Hadith: 5017)
Drawing tattoos on the body: Narrated Abdullah bin Masood (may Allah be pleased with him), may Allah’s curse be upon those women who draw tattoos on their bodies and those who draw. And a curse on those women who lift their hair and eyebrows, and a curse on those women who cut their front teeth for beauty, creating gaps in their teeth that change God’s creation. The narrator said: “Why should he not curse the one whom the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) cursed?” And it is in the Book of Allah, ‘Take what the Messenger (pbuh) gives you.’ (Sura: Hashr, Ayat: 6; Bukhari, Hadith: 5931)
The Prophet’s curse on the thief: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: May Allaah curse the thief when he steals a helmet and they cut off his hand and steal a rope and cut off his hand for it. (Bukhari, Hadith: 63)
Wearing clothes of different genders: There is a special importance in Sharia for men and women to wear separate clothes. And those who violate this provision have been declared condemned in Hadith Sharif. The famous Companion Abu Hurairah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace be upon him) cursed men who wear the same clothes as women and women who wear the same clothes as men. (Abu Dawood, Hadith: 4096). May Allah protect us from these cursed sins.
