Span 39 sat on the Padma Bridge, leaving only two

Span 39 (2-D) has been installed on piers (posts) 10 and 11 at the Mawa end of Padma Bridge, Munshiganj. As a result, 5,650 km of the bridge are visible. The stretch was installed at 12:20 pm on Friday.

This section was installed 7 days after the installation of section 38. The entire bridge remained visible and only two spans remained. Span 36 was placed at Poles 1 and 2 on the Mawa side on November 21.

Abdul Quader told Prothom Alo that the Tiain-e floating crane left the Kumarbhog construction yard at 9:05 am Friday with the 150-meter-long span 39 towards the designated pole. The section reaches those two poles in the middle of the Padma in no time. The section was installed the same day as there were no technical problems. Section 40 will be at poles 11 and 12 on December 6 or 7. The next tranche is ready in two Mawa construction yards.

Meanwhile, 2,917 road slabs will be required for the construction of the Padma Bridge. Of these, more than 1,175 road slabs have been installed as of October 31. In addition, 2,959 railway floors will be installed. Of these, 1,648 have been installed so far.
