An ‘iconic mosque’ to be built in that section with help from Saudi Arabia

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that six ‘iconic mosques’ with all the facilities will be built in eight divisions of the country with the help of Saudi Arabia.

The newly appointed Saudi ambassador, Isa bin Youssef Al-Duhailan, paid a courtesy visit to the prime minister at his Ganobhaban residence on Thursday morning.

After the meeting, the prime minister’s press secretary, Ihsanul Karim, briefed reporters.

The prime minister said that 560 model mosques with Islamic cultural centers are being built at the upazila level with help from Saudi Arabia. The Prime Minister also recalled the development of the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in Saudi cooperation.

Mentioning that the government is prioritizing the agricultural sector, Sheikh Hasina said that Bangladesh can send agricultural workers to Saudi Arabia.
The prime minister said that Saudi Arabia has a special place in the hearts of Bangladeshis.

Referring to the traditional ties between the two sister countries, he added that Bangladesh has always valued this relationship. The two countries have cooperative relationships in many sectors.

At the time, the Saudi ambassador expressed his hope that the existing relations between the two countries would deepen and strengthen under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

He added that bilateral cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh will continue in areas such as economy, security and manpower.

Al-Duhailan said that more than 1.5 million Bangladeshis are working in various sectors in Saudi Arabia. They are working hard and making a great contribution to the Saudi economy.

Referring to the favorable investment environment in Bangladesh, the Ambassador said that Saudi entrepreneurs are interested in investing in Bangladesh. Our government welcomes businessmen from Bangladesh to Saudi Arabia to strengthen trade and commerce between the two sister countries.

In this context, the Saudi ambassador said: “There is huge investment potential in Saudi Arabia and we will provide full cooperation to Bangladeshi businessmen in this regard.”

Expressing satisfaction with the excellent relations that exist between the two countries, Al-Duhailan told the Prime Minister at the time that it was his responsibility to take these relations further during his tenure as Ambassador.

The Saudi ambassador praised the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Ihsanul Karim said that the coronavirus issue was also discussed between the Prime Minister and the Ambassador at the time.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Prime Minister welcomed the newly appointed Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Bangladesh and assured him of full cooperation in his tenure in Bangladesh.
During the meeting, the Secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office. Tofazzal Hossain Mia was present.

The press secretary further said that later, Bhutan’s ambassador to Bangladesh, Rinchen Quentsil, paid a courtesy visit to the prime minister at the same location.
