A Sunamganj court acquitted the defendants in 50 cases brought against their husbands on charges of domestic disputes and torture on the condition that they return to married life without being convicted.

After receiving the news that the husbands would return to their families after the court intervention, their wives waited in front of the court with flowers.
At this time many wives were seen waiting for their husbands with their children in their arms.
According to judicial sources, the 50 women had filed a lawsuit against their husbands under the Prevention of Abuse of Women and Children Act. As a result of the case, a bellicose position was created between husband and wife. It puts the life, safety, food, shelter, care, love, present and future of your children uncertain.
Wives lived an uncertain life with their children, leaving their husbands homeless. The court acquitted the defendants to put an end to the uncertainty and create a climate of peace and harmony in the family and society.
The court further said that the verdict was passed to protect 50 families from disintegration by solving the cases eliminating the cases of peace, air of harmony and the smell of flowers, not punishment.
Meanwhile, after the court acquitted the defendants in 50 cases, husband and wife greeted each other with flowers.
At this time an emotional atmosphere was created in the courtyard. Many husbands, wives and children are seen crying. The plaintiffs, defendants and the general public, including attorneys, have praised the exceptional initiative of the 50 families on the brink of collapse.
Mohammad Mia from the Uttar Sreepur area of Tahirpur upazila said: “I married Amina Khatun from the same village 14 years ago. We have four children in our family. A year and a half ago, my wife filed a lawsuit against me over a family dispute. The case carries a three-month jail term.
He further said that as a result of the case, there was an attempt to separate our family. The future of the children becomes uncertain. The verdict of the court has touched my broken family. I want to spend the rest of my life happily with my wife and children.
Attorney Aftab Uddin, president of the Sunamganj District Bar Association, said it was an exceptional verdict in the history of Sunamganj courts. With the intervention of the court, the air of peace will return to the world. This will strengthen the family and social base. That verdict will strengthen people’s confidence in the judiciary.
