Fifteen Bangladeshis, most of them construction workers, have been deported for posting on social media as part of anti-French protests.
The country’s Interior Ministry said on Tuesday there was a Malaysian in addition to the Bangladeshis. Who has been sent back to his country.
A statement said they had made some posts on social media in the wake of the recent terrorist attacks in France, which “fueled violence and destroyed community harmony.”
However, authorities did not say what was in these messages.
Of the total of 23 foreigners, 18 have been sent back to their respective countries through an investigation. The remaining seven are under investigation.
