The directive was given by the Prime Minister during a meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) on Tuesday.
The project has been criticized for sending three dozen officials abroad to learn pasture farming techniques.
According to the Planning Commission, the total cost of the project proposal was estimated at Tk 101.53 crore. Among them, it has been proposed to train 32 government officials abroad to learn how to improve the cultivation of nutritious grasses. The cost behind each will be Rs 10 lakh.
Amid criticism, the project was taken to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) on Tuesday for approval. The project was approved after detailed discussions there, said Chief Secretary Asadul Islam.
Speaking at a press conference after the meeting, he said: “Overseas tours have been reported in the newspapers under the project, it has been made known at the meeting. The Prime Minister said that the number and number of foreign travel allowance. The Prime Minister has ordered that no one but interested persons be sent abroad during the visit. ”
Asadul Islam said: “Regarding the need for this project, the Prime Minister said: ‘It is a good project. This is what we need. It will also be encouraged. After detailed discussions, the project was approved ”.
Khurushkul’s special shelter project in Cox’s Bazar was also discussed at the meeting.
The Secretary said that the Prime Minister has ordered to assign flats under the Khurushkul Special Shelter Project to those affected by the impact of climate change or the expansion of the airport in Cox’s Bazar on a priority basis.
“During the discussion on the project, the Prime Minister ordered that a list be compiled of those affected by the adverse effects of climate change or the expansion of Cox’s Bazar Airport. We have to rehabilitate that housing project based on that list.”
