According to the details of the case, Samiul was killed in his Adabar home on the night of June 23, 2010 due to his mother’s ‘adultery’. Samiul was a Middle English playgroup student at Greenwood International School at Naboday Housing.

Samiul’s mother, Ayesha Humaira Esha, 25, and her boyfriend Shamsuzzaman Bakku, 38, were charged at the Adabar police station with murder and disappearance. Samiul’s father, KR Azam.

Police arrested the two defendants. They confessed to the murder and testified in court.

KR Azam had submitted a GD to the police saying that they would kill him as his son if Bakku was not released on bail from the High Court in 2014. That same year, Azam himself filed an application with the court and granted bail to his wife. Later, he got a house with her for some time.

Azam, who was granted bail by his wife at the time due to kidney problems, died in the trial process. Before his death in November 2015, he expressed frustration with the nature of the case.

Azam told bdnews24.com: “I have forgiven my wife Humaira. I have nothing to do. Everything is future. But I still see my son Samiul in my dreams.”

The case is being heard at the Dhaka Court of Special Judges No. 4. Judge Sheikh Nazmul Alam set December 6 as the date for the verdict.

The court’s special prosecutor, Farooq Uzzaman Bhuiyan (Tipu), told bdnews24.com on Monday: State arguments are presented. I expect the maximum punishment of the accused. The court, after presenting its arguments, has set December 8 as the date for the verdict ”.

He said that Ayesha Humaira Esha, Shishu Samiul’s mother, was out on bail in the case. He pleaded not guilty at the last hearing and asked for justice.

“But she did not appear in court today. The court canceled the bail and issued an arrest warrant against her. And Esha’s boyfriend, Shamsuzzaman Arif, alias Bakku, is a fugitive.”

According to the details of the case, Bakku strangled and killed Samiul after seeing his ‘illegal’ relationship with Bakku and Esha. His body was then dumped in a sack next to Samiul’s home at Naboday Housing in Adabar.

On October 25, 2011, Adabar OC Kazi Shahan Haque Police Station filed a charge sheet against Bakku and Esha in the case.

The court filed charges against the two on February 1 of the following year. Seven days later, plaintiff Azam’s testimony began in court. A total of 22 people testified during the trial.

Explaining the reason for the delay in the trial, state attorney Farooq Uzzaman Bhuiyan told bdnews24.com: “Of course, the trial could have ended earlier. But that was not possible for me alone. The plaintiff and I had to rush. to bring the witnesses to court. And most of the witnesses are poor. The cost of going to court, recovering the cost of working hours, etc. were problems.

“But I am hopeful that neither of the two defendants in the case will be acquitted on the basis of the evidence. Defendant Humaira was previously in a ‘very relaxed mood’ but has now fled in fear. The other defendant fled a long time ago ”.
