The ACC has seized assets worth Rs 100 million from Kazi Anis, an office secretary expelled from the Juba League, for allegedly possessing assets illegally.
The company’s deputy director, Gulshan Anwar Pradhan, seized the assets. Previously, on October 29, he filed a case against Kazi Anis at ACC Dhaka Integrated District Office 1.
In the statement of the case, Kazi Anis was accused of acquiring illegal assets worth Tk 12 crore 80 lakh 80,920 and his wife against Tk 1 crore 31 lakh 18,500.
The ACC’s investigation into the case found a five-story house in Kalabagan, the capital. Two floors were found in Dhanmondi and Wari, three stores in Elephant Road Multiplan and a 13-square-foot retail space, two stores in a market in the Gulshan-2 area. In addition, the ACC has a luxurious house in Boalia de Muksudpur in Gopalganj, a petrol pump, 15 bighas of land worth Tk 30 crore and 40 kathas of land in Keraniganj outside the capital. In addition, the ACC has received a bank transaction of Rs 50 crore from Onis.
The Juba League leader was watched by the RAB and police investigators for allegedly being involved in gambling at the club. The news that he had been arrested in the last week of October spread in various sectors. However, no person in charge has acknowledged the veracity of the news. At one point the news came that he had fled the country.
According to various sources, including the Juba League, Kazi Anis was once the IT operator for the Juba League office. With the blessings of top leaders, he became the leader of the organization. Everyone knew him as ‘Cashier’. In the last decade, he has become the owner of hundreds of million rupees. This Anis is an accomplice of all kinds of misdeeds of some leaders of the Juba League.
On condition of anonymity, several Juba League leaders said the powerful Anisur Rahman cares for no one except the president of the Juba League. He joined the Juba League office in 2001 as a computer operator. After that, he shared various tasks with the leaders. In the last 12 years, Aladdin’s luck has changed when he received his lamp. Even five years ago, he had a tin house in Muksudpur, Gopalganj. Now picturesque buildings. There are several houses. There are houses in Mymensingh’s Bhaluka, Dhaka’s Swamibagh, Ittefaq Mor, Jatrabari, Shukrabad and Uttara. There are some flats in Lalmatia, Jhigatala and Dhanmondi. There are shops in the Uttara, Mirpur and Gulshan markets. Anisur has a jute mill in Narayanganj.
According to various sources, Anisur formed a union with GK Shamim, Khaled and a few others. His union was involved in extortion, bidding, club gambling, and other misdeeds. He used to collect money and reach different sectors. Everyone respected him except one superior leader. Because of Anisur, the selfless and honest leaders of the Juba League were unable to reach even the top leaders.
