The city of Pompeii is said to be one of the hallmarks of ancient Roman civilization. At that time it was one of the most elite cities in the world. The city of Pompeii was buried alive under the lava of a terrible volcano. That was about two thousand years ago. Archaeologists have recovered two bodies from that time.
In 69 AD, the city of Pompeii was completely destroyed by a volcanic eruption on Vesuvius. The planned city, 23 kilometers southeast of Naples, Italy, had a population of 13,000. They were lost forever under the fiery lava of the volcano.
According to the BBC, archaeologists have found the bodies of two people at that time. Two bodies had been preserved for so long in the ruins of the city of Pompeii.
Italy’s culture ministry said on Saturday it had discovered the remains of two people who were burned to death in a volcanic eruption nearly 2,000 years ago.
One of those two people is probably an upper class man. He is believed to be between 30 and 40 years old. Traces of woolen cloth were found under his neck. The second person was between 18 and 30 years old. Looking at the clothes he was wearing, it appears that he was a first-person slave.
