He said that RAB-3 has filed three cases under the Arms, Drugs and Special Powers Act. Monir will be brought to CMM court this afternoon. In each case, a total of 21 days of preventive detention will be requested for seven days.

On Friday (November 20) starting at 10 pm, the RAB raided Golden Monir’s house in Merul Badda in the capital. During the night raid, 600 gold ornaments, a foreign pistol and 19 lakh rupee cash were seized. In addition, five luxury cars have been seized.

Ashiq Billah, director of the media and legal wing of RAB headquarters, told a press conference at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday that Golden Monir had smuggled a large amount of gold into Bangladesh from abroad. . We have information that his gold smuggling route was Dhaka-Singapore-India. All this has been done with tax evasion. Where his name became Golden Monir.

After the arrest of Monir Hossain aka Golden Monir, a foreign pistol, some rounds of ammunition, foreign liquor and foreign currency worth Tk 9 lakh were recovered from his custody. In addition, eight kg of gold and one crore and 9 lakh rupees in cash were seized from his house.

Basically he is a hundi trader, gold smuggler and land broker. It has a coach selection showroom. In addition, there is an association with a gold shop in the capital’s Gauchia. We impounded two unlicensed luxury foreign cars from his home, each worth approximately Rs 3 crore. Apart from this, three unlicensed luxury cars were also seized from the auto showroom.

In response to a question, Ashiq Billah said that he was arrested primarily for criminal offenses, that is, possession of unauthorized foreign weapons and drugs. However, RAB will ask interested persons to investigate who is involved in this illegal creation of their income.

It is known that Monir Hossain worked as a saleswoman in a clothing store in the Gauchia Market in the capital in the 90s. Then she started the tableware business. At one point he got involved in gold smuggling. Then he used to bring a large amount of gold into the country illegally from abroad.

With illegally earned money, Merul built a luxurious six-story house in Badda. In addition, Monir has admitted that there are more than 200 plots and 30 flats in different areas of the capital.
