Police have recovered the body of an unidentified woman wearing a glass drum burqa from a passenger bus in the Gournadi sub-district of Barisal.

The body was recovered from the Bhurghata bus stop on the Barisal-Madaripur border at 11pm on Friday.

According to the police, a local RC Paribahan bus (Barisal-J-11-0104) with 40/45 passengers left Barisal city Nathullabad bus terminal for Gournadi Bhurghata bus stop around 6: 30 pm on Friday.

On the way, an unidentified passenger (45) from the Goriyarpar bus stop got on the bus and the aide said that a large can of chemical was filled with glass.

At that time, the man told the bass assistant that his men would take the Bhurghata drum. But the bus took a long time to get to Bhurghata, but nobody came to collect the drums.

At one point, when all the chief’s passengers got off, the chief’s aide could not find his way and lowered the drum from the bus. Later, with the help of the locals, he opened the drum and saw the body of a woman.

After confirming the matter, the CO of the Gournadi Model Police Station, Afzal Hossain, said that the dead woman was wearing a burqa. He is approximately 30 years old. The body will be sent to the Shebachim Hospital morgue for autopsy on Saturday.
