Somehow, a man has indulged in perverted sexual lust on a dead woman in a hospital morgue in the capital; The Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) acted on the basis of this information.

Munna Bhagat, 20, was arrested Thursday night on charges of raping dead women in a morgue based on evidence.

CID officials say Munna Bhagat is the niece of Dom Rajat Kumar Lal. He used to work with his uncle as a helper in the hospital morgue. Munna had been raping dead women in the morgue for two or three years.

Munna was also suspected of being a serial killer at the beginning of the investigation.
In the process of the CID investigation, it has emerged that all the bodies have been subjected to autopsy at the morgue of that hospital. CID detectives found new leads in the investigation and after each body was taken to the morgue, their procedures were analyzed.

It is seen that the bodies brought for the autopsy were left in the morgue waiting to be cut the next day. In this context, CID officials reviewed Dom’s activities working in the morgue during the post-mortem examination of the case and found that Dom from the hospital was in the morgue at night during all five incidents.

After openly and secretly gathering information on the matter, the CID investigation found evidence that Dom accused Munna Bhagat of involvement in the crime.

The CID’s suspicions were further intensified when the matter was immediately covered up and in this context, the CID (No. 40) brought a case to the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station.

After collecting the defendant’s DNA samples and sending them to the laboratory, the DNA from the DNA laboratory matched the defendant’s DNA profile and the body’s DNA profile.

A senior official involved in the investigation, who did not want to be named, said: “After the presence of sperm from the same person in five paired bodies, we began the investigation assuming that there may be involvement of serial killers or serial rapists.”

However, the investigation or post-mortem report found no signs of injury to the body. After that, the CID investigation team launched an investigation on suspicion that the dead women might have been raped in the morgue.

Munna researchers to capture the drama
The CID investigation team named Munna Bhagat, Dom Rajat Kumar Lal’s niece, on suspicion. Sej Munnar, a relative of a young man who disappeared, became friends with two CID agents. The drama begins. They continued to follow Munna for several days in a row. They went to the morgue at one or two in the evening to make sure Munnai stayed the night. He showed the photo and wanted to know if a corpse of this appearance had arrived at the morgue. As the relationship deepens, they tactfully pick up the filter from Munnar’s cigarettes. The DNA collected from the filter matched the DNA found in the bodies of the five teenagers.

The defendant’s DNA profile was made on the basis of sperm found in the body.
According to the CID statement, the CID prepares DNA tests and profiles of cases in which autopsies have been ordered in Bangladesh, including rape and murder.

From March 2019 to August 2020, the CID found the presence of male sperm in the bodies of dead women found in the forensic medicine department of a medical school. But the presence of a man’s sperm in the body of more than one woman surprises them. They went to the field to identify the man.

The CID said in a statement that the man’s DNA profile was created based on sperm found in the body.

Later, the suspect’s DNA profile matched the DNA profile obtained from various incidents at the Mohammadpur and Kafrul police stations in Dhaka.

Initially, the CID had the idea that in each case a person murdered the victim after the rape or raped after the murder.

However, after further investigation and analysis, the CID concluded that a person was “satisfying sexual perversion” in the body.

After a phone conversation with his girlfriend the night of the rape
According to an official involved in the investigation, Munnar has been in a romantic relationship with a young woman for two years. He was involved in perverted sexual purposes.

Munna used to take selfies with corpses.
The CID has found more evidence of mental disorder by going to the mobile phone of the defendant Munnar. An official said Munna was taking selfies with her body. In this case, the young women’s bodies were at the top of his favorites list. Also, women of different ages used to make videos of mutilated corpses.

Young corpses are ‘good’ for Munnar
Munna, who has a distorted mentality, did not look at all bodies the same, she told officials during questioning. A CID official said that the bodies of young women near Munnar were “good” bodies. And the bodies of older women and men are “bad” bodies.

Historical HC directives
In 2015, the National High Court issued a landmark resolution in the case of the premature death of an indigenous woman. It says that in the event of a woman’s premature death, sperm should be collected from her genitals and stored and analyzed. It remains to be seen if there was rape prior to premature death. Since then, the CID forensic laboratory has been following the court order.
