There are four cases against the teenager under the Weapons and Narcotics Law at Khulshi and Bayezid Bostami Police Stations in Chittagong. Yesterday he was sent to court from the Bayazid Bostami police station in two separate cases of recovery of yaba and weapons (knives). The court subsequently ordered him to be sent to the Gazipur Youth Development Center. According to the case presented by the Bayazid Bostami police, the teenager is a member of an organized criminal gang.

Previously, the juvenile court was separate, but now the case against children and adolescents is being tried in the Chittagong Abuse Suppression Court for Women and Children. Nazrul Islam, the court’s prosecutor, told Prothom Alo that it was illegal to handcuff a minor accused. Action should be taken to identify the members of the police involved in the incident. Article 44 of the Children’s Act states that no child can be handcuffed or handcuffed after arrest.

Subikash Barua brought the accused boy to Chittagong court from the Bayazid Bostami Police Station. When asked, he said, he forgot and left the key to the handcuffs. Then the handcuffs won’t open. When asked if it was illegal to handcuff children, he said it was a mistake.
