At the end of the pretrial detention, Dr. Mamun and two other people were in jail

Drs Abdullah Al Mamun and Fatema Akter, arrested in connection with the murder of police officer Anisul Karim, were sent to Dhaka Central Jail on Friday. When they were presented to the court at the end of their pre-trial detention, the judge ordered that they be sent to jail.

Abdullah Al Mamun, Registrar of the National Institute of Mental Health and Hospitals, and Fatema Akter, one of the owners of Mind Aid and Psychiatry and Addiction in Adabar, were brought to the Dhaka Metropolitan Chief Magistrate’s Court (CMM) today after imprisonment four-day preventive. After the hearing, the court sent them to jail. The court granted Fatema Khatun four days of pretrial detention on November 15 and Abdullah Al Mamun two days on November 16.

Said Adabar Police Officer in Charge (OC). Shahiduzzaman told Prothom Alo today that so far 13 people have been arrested in the case of the murder of police officer Anisul Karim. After pre-trial detention, 12 of them have been sent to Dhaka Central Jail. Niaz Morshed, one of the owners of Mind Aid, is under treatment at the Agargaon National Neuroscience Institute and Hospital under police surveillance. All four have made confessional statements in court. One of the accused is abroad. The other two are in hiding in the country. An attempt is being made to arrest them.
