Jamshed Alam, 63, alias ‘Ful Huzur’, a supposed ‘Pir’ from Sonagazi de Feni, has married a 23-year-old student who was instructed to marry in a dream.

With the consent of both families, the marriage was solemnized in a grand ceremony at Ful Hazur Tarika’s main court in the Dhaka court area at a cost of Tk 10 lakh. After the matter became known, there was great curiosity in Sonagazi. Extensive discussions and criticism are also taking place on social media. Newlyweds are known to stay in Dhaka after marriage.

The student’s house is in the Fakirhat area of Feni Sadar upazila Union Baligaon. Ful Hazur is a follower of Imam Hayat, founder of the Sunni World Movement.

Locals said that for more than three decades, Jamshed Alam Fatehpuri alias Ful Huzur, son of the late Khurshid Alam from Fatehpur village in the Nawabpur junction of Sonagazi upazila, has been opening a Durbar Sharif on his doorstep. Because of this, their Pir-Murid relationship developed with people from different parts of the country, including local men and women.

Of the five brothers and four sisters, only Ful Hazur and his two sisters are alive. In addition to his court, he has been running a Noorani madrassa on his behalf since 2004. Every year on February 26, the annual Urs is also celebrated at his Darbar Sharif. At the annual Ursa, devotees come from different parts of the country.

Kamrul Islam, the director of Nurani Madrasa, which is run with her money, said her relationship with the student’s family inspired her to marry him. Furthermore, the Hazur devotees were also under pressure to get married. The teacher has been instructed to marry the girl through a dream. Because of their age and physical illness, it has become necessary to marry.

She said the student is studying honors at Feni Zia Women’s College. Inspired by the lord’s ideals, she voluntarily married with the consent of the parents of the family.

The student’s grandfather, Nur Karim, said his granddaughter and family members are followers of Ful Hazur. We are happy to marry the granddaughter with the Lord. There was no violation of state or religious law.

However, he did not receive the phone call from Ful Hazur more than once to find out about the marriage and not to marry for a long time. He went to court and found it locked.
