From January to June, the government of Bangladesh made 241 requests to Facebook for information on 361 user IDs or accounts. In 44 percent of the cases, Facebook has provided some information to the Bangladeshi government.
Facebook has recently published an updated transparency report, from which this information has come to light. Facebook publishes its updated transparency report every six months.
According to the Facebook Update Transparency Report, out of 361 user IDs or accounts requested by the government, Bangladesh has made 99 urgent requests for ID and account information and 142 through legal processes. And in recent years, Bangladesh has increased the information request rate.
