The power supply to the city was resumed 55 hours after a devastating fire at the substation 132/33 KV in Kumargaon in Sylhet. The supply of electricity to all areas of the city began at 6.30 pm on Thursday. And through this the long darkness of the people of Sylhet was cut off. The end is the water crisis and the suffering of the people.

Earlier, the energy department had started supplying power to various areas of Sylhet at 7.15pm on Wednesday. Parts of the Sylhet and Sunamganj districts were without power due to a fire at the Kumargaon power substation at 11 a.m. on Tuesday.

Power supply to various upazilas and areas, including MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital Road, Jallarpar, Mirzajangal, Taltala, Sheikhghat, Kalapara, Ghasitula, Kalapara, Dandiapara, Lama Bazar, Rikabibazar and Dakshin Surma area in Sylhet city, It started around 6:15 pm on Thursday.

The Power Development Board (PDB) Sylhet, chief engineer, Khandaker Mokammel Hossain said the repairs were complete to 100% after the fire. Now the power supply to Sylhet has begun.

He said that 100 percent of the electricity has been supplied experimentally so far. Since the feeders were damaged in the fire, repairs were made and electricity was supplied for the time being. If any repair work is required, it will be done as needed.
