The morgue has been accused of misbehaving with the bodies of deceased women. In this case The Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) detained a young man named Munna Bhagat (20) who was helping at the Suhrawardy Medical College morgue in the capital.
CID inspector Jihad Hossain filed a case at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police station in the capital on Thursday night.
In admitting to the incident, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Abul Kalam Azad said that Munna Bhagat was not an employee of the Suhrawardy Medical College morgue. He attended the morgue guards like an outsider.
His home is in the Goalanda area of Rajbari. For several days there have been reports of mistreatment of deceased women from the morgue. The CID is investigating the matter.
He further said that Munna Bhagat was working as an associate of Dom Jatan Kumar Lal of the Suhrawardy Medical College morgue when he went to investigate the CID. Munna used to sleep in a room next to the morgue. Jatan is mom over Munnar. As such, mom and nephew work together in the morgue.
Recently, a complaint was filed with the police on behalf of the family of a deceased woman. On the basis of the allegations, the CID arrested Munna Bhagat on Thursday night and handed him over to Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police. Subsequently, the CID presented a case against him. Munna Bhagat has been shown to be arrested in that case.
