Shaheen has an immoral relationship with a madrasa student. At one point, the student became pregnant. The referees sat in the area with the matter. There, Mohir Uddin, 65, was convicted and the madrasa student was married to him. The incident took place in the village of Boyra Para in the Char Amkhawa union of Jamalpur Dewanganj upazila.
According to various local sources, a student at the local madrasa had an illicit affair with Shaheen, 18, the son of Surman Ali from Boyrapara village. The student became pregnant due to illicit sexual relations with him. Then the local matabbars held an arbitration meeting in the village this week to resolve the issue. The arbitrators found Mohir Uddin (65) guilty in the arbitration. Later, he and Shaheen received 10 lashes each in refereeing. The referees married the madrasa student to Mahir Uddin, 85.
This has caused a mixed reaction in the area. Some say old Mohir Uddin has admitted his guilt. Shaheen’s family claims that Shaheen did nothing.
Victim Mohir Uddin said: ‘A local member Joynal Abedin Nadu, Gafur Master, Quddus Master has hurt me in the name of justice. I’m innocent. But he blamed me.
Joynal Abedin Nadur, a member of the Char Amkhawa Union, stated that all the village elders have been arbitrated. Mohir has been found guilty in that arbitration. He was married then. Local UP President Shah Azizur Rahman told Kaler Kanth that no one informed me about anything. I know everything about journalists. He will take responsibility for any wrongdoing. It should be a legal trial.
The officer in charge of the Dewanganj OC MM Moinul Islam model police station said: “I went myself a while ago. I found out from the documents of that girl, she is 18 years and 9 months old. The old man and his wife are being questioned by the police. We have not received any complaints from the girl. Therefore, no action could be taken against anyone.
