Madrasa Board of Education Bill passed in Parliament

The National Assembly passed a bill called ‘Bangladesh Madrasah Board of Education Bill-2020’ to make the Madrasah Education Ordinance law.

Minister of Education on Thursday night. When Dipu Moni proposed to pass the bill in Parliament, it was approved by oral vote.

Speaker Dr. Opposition members discussed the proposal to send it to the Public Opinion Verification and Selection Committee before the bill is approved in the parliamentary session chaired by Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury. His proposal and amendment were not accepted.

After the bill was introduced in Parliament on November 8, it was sent to the Standing Parliamentary Committee of the Ministry of Education for further scrutiny.

The purpose and reasons of the approved bill are set out in the progress of all education, research and training and extension activities at the Ebtedayi, Dakhil and Alim level and the achievement of economic growth through the creation of new entrepreneurs and expansion of employment at home and abroad. It is urgent and reasonable to pass the bill without repealing the existing ordinance to transform the country into a developed and prosperous country in one year.

The word ‘Board’ has been replaced by ‘Board of Directors’ in the bill presented in Parliament. The number of council members has been increased from 13 to 15. And the Registrar has been included as Member Secretary. In addition, like other boards of education, it has also been proposed to raise the retirement age of Madrasa Education Board officers and employees to 60 years.

It should be noted that the Madrasa Board of Education has been operating for so long under the 1979 ordinance. According to the instructions of the High Court, there is an obligation to amend the laws or ordinances promulgated during the military rule and amend them to Bengal. That is why this bill has been presented.
