Forgetting arrogance, the Anaspanthis agreed to return to Hefazat’s newly announced committee. The condition, however, is that the announced committee be reformed and return to the principles and ideals of Allama Shafi. On the other hand, the leaders of this commission think that the deposed have not been expelled, they have been warned. A full committee with the remaining 31 members of the current Hefazat central committee will be announced soon.
Maulana Moinuddin Ruhi, chairman of the newly dissolved committee of the apolitical Islami Oikyajot Chittagong Metropolitan organization, told Jugantar on Wednesday night that Hefazat-e-Islam is not an organization centered on the party or the individual, but a united platform of Qaumi Alems and Muslims in the country. We don’t want a custody violation. If the current committee leaders go back to Allama Shafi’s principles and ideals and correct their mistakes, then we will have no difficulty working together.
“We have no dispute with them,” he added. We are students of the same teachers and madrasas. Our pride with them. But if they perpetuate arrogance, we may have to make a political decision. He said that next Saturday a meeting would be held in Dhaka with his followers, the leaders Alem-Ulama and Hefazat.
Hefazat-e-Islam announced a new committee headed by Allama Junaid Babungari at a conference at the Hathazari Madrasa in Chittagong on November 15. Of the 151 members, 120 were nominated that day. The new committee will add the remaining 31 people later. Maulana Anas Madani, son of Amir Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi, the publicity secretary of the previous committee and founder of Hefazat, did not get a seat on the committee. Also, many of his followers did not receive the post. Among them are former Naib Committee Ameer Maulana Abdul Quddus, Deputy Secretary General Mufti Faizullah, Maulana Moinuddin Ruhi, Maulana Salimullah and the Secretary General of the Dhaka Metropolitan Committee, Abul Hasnat Amini.
Maulana Ashraf Ali Nizampuri, the newly elected deputy secretary of the current committee and head muhaddith of Hathazari Madrasa, said the deposed people were not expelled, but were shown yellow cards. He thinks that the marginalized have been left out of their actions. This does not mean that Hefazat has definitively expelled them.
However, Moinuddin Ruhi claimed that such statements were fabricated. He said that they tortured Amir Allama Shafi, the founder of Hefazat, and vandalized his room. In the name of the student movement, several Hathazari Madrasa scholars have been beaten.
Meanwhile, the full Hefazat committee will be announced soon with the remaining 31 members, said Nasir Uddin Munir, deputy general secretary of the new committee. He said a full-fledged central committee would be formed with the remaining members before classifying the organization by forming new committees at the district and upazila levels across the country.
