Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh has called for shops and businesses to close in the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) area at 8pm.
He said this when inaugurating the Sher-e-Bangla Mahila Mahavidyalaya 10-story academic building on Tikatuli in the capital on Wednesday noon.
Mayor Tapas said: “We want the city to be under proper management. We want to close all businesses and stores at 8 pm. I see the outside world, after a certain time, everything stops. ‘
“We believe that if the shops and businesses in Dhaka City are closed at 8pm for the people of Dhaka, we will be able to bring our general activities under proper management,” he added.
He added: “If the shops close at eight o’clock, the city of Dhaka will be freed from traffic jams, I will be able to spend time with my family, I will be able to spend time with my children.”
The Mayor of DSCC said: “It is very important that all parents spend time with their children if they want to develop them as good citizens. We often forget it, we don’t notice it. ‘
“All things considered, we have set a time of eight o’clock at night to keep shops and businesses open,” said the mayor, who stressed that giving time to children is a very important factor in the construction of any nation.
He sought the cooperation of all to make it effective.
Early in the morning, the mayor of DSCC laid the first stone of the market of the modern city of Azimpur.
Responding to a question from reporters about public toilets at the time, the mayor said: “We are studying how many public toilets in the districts are needed and in which districts the need is greatest.” We will have at least one public toilet in each district. We will have more public toilets in those areas where there is more public transport. That is why we have already instructed the engineering department and the engineering department is conducting a study to formulate a project.
