There has been a robbery in 10 houses in Araihazar upazila of Narayanganj. The incidents took place in Dakshin Para of Fatehpur Union of upazila, Nagra Para of Araihazar Sadar Township and Baghanagar village on Tuesday evening. The thieves hacked and injured four people, including the loot of money and gold ornaments. One of them has been admitted to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Araihazar police and local sources said, around one in the afternoon on Tuesday in the Fatehpur Dakshin Para area. Thieves broke into Aaron’s house. The robbers took everyone hostage at gunpoint and looted 40,000 rupees and three loads of gold ornaments. The robbers looted 10,000 rupees from Mozammel Haque’s house, 55,000 rupees and two mobile phones from the house of Mashkur Mollah, 72,000 rupees and 4 ounces of gold from the house of Fayez Ullah Miah, 1 ounce of gold and 6,000 rupees from the house by Abdul Hai Mollah. . The robbers raided the homes of Nazrul Islam and Tipu Miah in Bagha Nagar and Tanvir Alam, Muktadir Hossain and Rafiqul Islam in the Nagrapara area around 2:30 pm. Although they could not get anything out of these houses, four people were attacked and injured. Among the injured, Rafiqul Islam has been sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition.
The Officer-in-Charge (CO) of the Araihazar Police Station Nazrul Islam told Prothom Alo that the police had been dispatched to the area after the robbery. No one filed a complaint at the police station until Wednesday afternoon.
